Simon Silver-Myer was originally founded in 2003 by Michael Simon and Paul Silver-Myer and was based in Durweston Street, London from its founding until 2024.

In 2024, the company relocated to Finchley and re-branded to SSMB Accountants Ltd following Saul Bergbaum joining the business as a partner and due to the changing nature of the accountancy industry in the UK.

Paul Silver-Myer

Paul specialises in freelancers and their Limited Companies, bringing certainty to a complex business area. He has been working with self-employed individuals for over 25 years, successfully tackling the real issues that affect them and their businesses. He is also a financial coach, mediator and therapist, with the aim of developing the softer skills in the finance world. This has resulted in providing tax return services for a large, and growing, number of counsellors and therapists. Outside of work Paul enjoys supporting Chelsea and volunteering at major sporting events.

Michelle McCarthy

Michelle manages the Companies House compliance for our clients including the preparation of annual Confirmation Statements. She is also an experienced payroll specialist with a strong background in managing payroll processes and ensuring regulatory adherence, excelling in both accuracy and efficiency. Michelle’s attention to detail and dedication to maintaining compliance make her an integral part of our team, ensuring everything runs smoothly and on schedule.

Outside of work Michelle is a keen baker and also enjoys watching musicals in the theatre.

Jake is a motivated trainee accountant who assists with all aspects of his clients' accountancy needs. Eager to build on his growing expertise, Jake supports everything from bookkeeping to tax preparation, always ensuring accuracy and a strong attention to detail. His enthusiasm and commitment to learning contribute significantly to our firm's success. Clients value his diligent and reliable support.

When he is not in the office, Jake can be found unwinding on the golf course in the summer or watching Chelsea at Stamford Bridge. He also enjoys spending time exploring new recipes in the kitchen.

Namrata is a Chartered Tax Advisor and one of SSMB’s tax specialists. She has significant experience in the preparation of accounts and tax returns for all clients of all sizes but is key in assisting with complex tax cases.

AATQB Qualified Bookkeeper and office manager

Stacey Levy

Stacey is a qualified bookkeeper and is also in the midst of her AAT Level 3 Diploma. She assists clients with their bookkeeping as well as the preparation and filing of VAT Returns and payroll. She also supports with the preparation and filing of micro company and sole trader accounts and assists with the management of the office.
